Circular Economy 101 a great success!

Last friday our Circular Economy 101 lunch lecture took place at the IDE faculty featuring guest speaker David Peck!

Some of the things David talked about included the necessity of changing the way we think about how we conduct industrial design, since our current economic system is based on churning out product after product to generate more profit and to replace old products. Designers are trained to create more products this way, and a growing middle class results in more people being able to own more of this stuff, which is one of the main reasons that many companies are still stuck in their resource-degrading way of working.

Furthermore, Ivo Salters presented the new Circular Design Case elective (7 ects) which will be the ideal opportunity to apply the theories behind the 'Products that Last' book and meet professional designers during interactive sessions. The project will run once from 20 April - 3 July 2015, and you can read up on its details at click.nl/circo on the 1st of April, or send Ivo and email at i.r.salters@tudelft.nl for more info!

Stay put for more Circular Economy events organised by us in the future!
