The student hotel: Circular design competition

No gas. No waste. No problem. We’re excited to make TSH Delft our most sustainable hotel ever! That’s why we’re looking for innovative ideas, creative masterminds and fresh new ways of thinking about the world. And we believe local Delft students may be the answer.

TSH Delft poses a unique challenge – or, as we like to think of it, a golden opportunity. Per the existing technical requirements, the property will have no connection points to gas, is required to have a geothermal energy source, score at least BREEAM GOOD and have a GPR (local sustainability score commissioned by the municipality) of 7,0.

Together with ABN-AMRO and our construction partners (BAM, Bectro and KCAP), we’re launching a contest to make TSH Delft a sustainable high-roller and the standard bearer for a circular design hotel. The contest is open to any student, or teams of students, based in Delft. Architect, industrial designer, space engineer – everyone is welcome to submit, just so long as the proposed sustainable solution can exist inside of a building.
